Lady Topper Volleyball Camps at Western Kentucky University offer an opportunity for players to receive valuable instruction on the fundamental skills of volleyball. Campers will be made aware of the characteristics that define successful players. Organized games between campers will provide a competitive outlet after specific drills have been practiced. Contests built into drills capture the learner’s attention, which results in attentive practice.

Drill progressions will be aimed towards recognizing and developing good habits in all aspects of the game. General courtesy, respect for teammates and opponents and the importance of hard work will be taught to the campers through example by the Hilltopper coaches.

Season Recap

12 SILVER has had a phenomenal season and the winning percentage does not reflect on the progress our team has made throughout the season. We started out this season with only a few girls playing club ball in the past, and finished 2nd in Silver in our first tournament. As a team, we knew from there that the only place we could and would go, was up. We started out with only a few girls being able to serve (overhand or underhand), and finished the season with each girl being able to serve from behind the end line. We have improved a lot with passing and hitting throughout the season as well. We have had our ups and downs mixed with emotions, which we have overcome during the season, have grown together as a team, and have become family. We got away from one and two pass over the net, to getting pass, set, and hits. We even improved on blocking and had multiple touches and blocks from our middle blockers! We came in 2nd in Silver in our second tournament, 4th overall in our 3rd tournament, and finished our season as the Silver Champions, against a team we fell short to in our tournament in Louisville, KY. That win meant a lot to the girls, due to them wanting to finish the season with the win and keep the Silver Championship Plaque in Bowling Green, KY with BRAVO. We are extremely proud of how the girls have not only grown individually, but also as a team! The bonds and friendships they have made with each other to include nicknames and handshakes, are going to last a lifetime. We are already looking forward to next season, and the girls have already set goals for themselves to see how much further they can improve with their skills and talents!
