Nicole Whitson - Head Coach - 13 Black

Coaching Experience:

I started my coaching career in 2014 at 19 with Bravo. My first time coaching I was with Tim Sharp on 14 Black as his assistant. The following season I moved to a Head Coaching role for Bravo.

Education/Occupation:

BG Native - graduating from Warren Central High School. My first year of college I followed my passion to Kentucky Wesley College. After a year I decided to move home and attend Western Kentucky. During my time of undergrad, I was a student manager for the Volleyball team. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Movement Studies.

Playing Experience:

I had always been around the sport for as long as I can remember going to watch my Dad play sand. I still remember the sand courts being at Kereiakes Park. It's now the parking lot next to the current basketball court. They lost a lot of volleyballs...

I officially started playing in 7th grade for Warren Central. I still remember the day Morgan Shipley looked at me in the gym and told me I was going to be a setter. I was terrified. During 8th grade is when Bravo started. From 8th grade on I played year-round indoor and outdoor. My Dad always said "if you can jump in sand, you can jump on hardcourt." I continued to play throughout my adult years.

Favorite Hobbies and Sports Team:

It's very hard to find me anywhere else other than a volleyball court. I enjoy going to the lake, kayaking, music festivals, and a good bonfire during the fall. I also love Disney. Once a Disney Princess, always a Disney Princess.
